The Lake Ridge Academy Royals were the 73-50 winner over Grand River Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lake Ridge Academy's rough 67-45 defeat to the on Monday might stick with them for a while. Lake Ridge Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.
Grand River Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Filip Runjo, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joseph Quartey, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Lake Ridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Grand River Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Westside Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday. As for Grand River Academy, they will be playing at home against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horizon Science Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 795th, while the are ranked 260th).
