Palomar recap November 13, 2013
Poway and Rancho Bernardo played the closest game in Palomar this week, with Poway eventually emerging with a 35-31 victory.
Torrey Pines lost to La Costa Canyon 27-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
David Arevalo provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Broncos lost to the Titans. Arevalo's favorite target this week was Kameron Calhoun, who caught 5 passes for 79 yards.
Michael Searson and Arevalo gave Rancho Bernardo a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Searson threw for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Arevalo ran for 204 yards. Ross Lovato also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Marco Cobian and Nathan Cherek, Ramona has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Cobian is tops in the league in passing with 1,211 yards, while Cherek has rushed for 817 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Tristan McCoy's team's Calhoun, with 403 yards on 32 catches.
Westview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,299 from 3,363. The advance stemmed from a 14-7 victory over the Wolverines last week.
