This season hasn't been kind to the Carson Cougars, who are still winless after their tenth match. They had to suffer through a rough 52-23 loss at the hands of A.L. Brown. Carson has not had much luck with A.L. Brown recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Carson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rylee Hedrick, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds, and Laila Furr who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Carson's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.6 points per game. As for A.L. Brown, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Carson will head out on the road to face off against North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Rowan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carson in North Carolina (North Rowan is ranked 189th, while Carson is ranked 546th). A.L. Brown won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Hopefully Hickory Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
