The Tolman Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Pilgrim Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tolman will be strutting in after a victory while the Patriots will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Tolman faced the Broncos in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Tolman claimed a resounding 65-34 win over the Broncos at home. Tolman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tolman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Saulsby, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Isiah Gois was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pilgrim ended up a good deal behind the Saints on Thursday and lost 53-39. While losing is never fun, Pilgrim can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Saints are ranked fifth).
Tolman's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Pilgrim, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Tolman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Patriots in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Does Tolman have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
