After low-scoring totals in their previous six matchup, Sugar Valley Rural brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the Benton Tigers with a sharp 15-5 victory on Thursday. The Phoenix not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 19-1).

Sugar Valley Rural got a massive performance out of Olivia Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Showers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Sugar Valley Rural's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 2-12-1. As for Benton, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

As of now, neither Sugar Valley Rural nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
