Softball Recap: Bismarck Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bismarck had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Ashdown Panthers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Heidi Henson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bismarck got a massive performance out of Montana Garner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Garner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruthie Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bismarck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Bismarck's record is now 8-6. As for Ashdown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
