The First Baptist Academy Lions had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Lemon Bay, posting a 44-13 win on the road. Considering First Baptist Academy has won four games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Ethan Crossan, who threw for 444 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Crossan is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Sam Sparacio also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Several Manta Rays players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Scott, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.
First Baptist Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.3 points per game. As for Lemon Bay, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist Academy will take on Community School of Naples at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Community School of Naples' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Lemon Bay, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Booker at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th.
