The Teton Timberwolves will challenge the South Fremont Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Teton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
On Monday, Teton earned a 10-6 victory over Sugar-Salem.
The team relied heavily on Kadence Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Webster, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, South Fremont came up short against Sugar-Salem on Thursday, falling 22-13. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lexi Peebles and Leah Lehmann stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peebles got on base in four of her five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Lehmann got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sailee Kerbs, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Teton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for South Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
South Fremont's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Teton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. It's a different story for South Fremont, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Teton's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
Teton took their victory against South Fremont in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-2 score. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
