The West Rowan Falcons will take on the Carson Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Rowan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
West Rowan proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 19) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past South Rowan 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brant Graham was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Preston Javidi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carson hadn't done well against East Rowan recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Kendal Sifford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Snyder, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
West Rowan's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Carson, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Rowan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
West Rowan beat Carson 6-2 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
