Crockett is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Cedar Creek Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Crockett took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Manor with a sharp 12-2 win. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Julianna Gipson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Gipson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah McAfee, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four runs.
Crockett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Creek). They walked away with an 11-6 win over Milano on Saturday.
Kamryn Martinez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Martinez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adamarie Dimas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Alexyss Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
The victory got Crockett back to even at 3-3. As for Cedar Creek, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Crockett got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Cedar Creek by a conclusive 24-1 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
