The Northside Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-48 loss at the hands of Columbus. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Columbus is ranked 165th).
When it comes to explaining why Northside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Barrington Adams. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. The matchup was Adams' third in a row with at least ten points. Ousmane Nabe was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Northside bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Columbus, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Northside will head out on the road to face off against Shaw at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaw and Northside are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Columbus will be home for the holidays to greet Hardaway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hardaway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
