The Point Arena Pirates will face off against the Credo Gryphon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Point Arena's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Tomales as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Point Arena got a massive performance out of Alexa Ferreyra, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Montserrat Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Credo made easy work of Calistoga on Friday and carried off a 26-9 victory.
Giada Saechao was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Saechao was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Aliana Martinez and Delaney Lannert did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Lannert went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most RBI Martinez has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Miela Beeton, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Credo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
The win got Credo back to even at 7-7. As for Point Arena, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Credo's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Point Arena has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Credo, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Point Arena keep running through batters, or will the Gryphon buck the trend?
Everything went Point Arena's way against Credo when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Point Arena made off with a 33-23 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Gryphon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
