Lake Placid is 3-0 against Victory Christian Academy since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lake Placid Dragons will be home for the holidays to greet the Victory Christian Academy Storm at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Lake Placid didn't even let Avon Park onto the board and left with a 20-0 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Lake Placid has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They secured a 49-43 W over St. Petersburg Catholic.
It was another big night for Bianca Barroso, who scored 21 points along with nine steals and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Victory Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gomez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Lake Placid's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Victory Christian Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Lake Placid didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Victory Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 32-26 victory.
