Lakewood has gone a perfect 6-0 against Rocky River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rangers will face off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Lakewood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Lakewood hadn't beaten North Olmsted on the road since April 26, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Rangers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Eagles.

Ella Bower was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Comer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Rocky River was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They lost 8-2 to Westlake.
Reagan Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Rocky River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Sollars, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Lakewood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Rocky River, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Lakewood came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky River in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
