Midd-West is 0-9 against Central Columbia since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Midd-West Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Central Columbia Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Midd-West and four for Central Columbia.
Last Saturday, Midd-West came up short against Lewisburg and fell 59-47. Midd-West has struggled against Lewisburg recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Garrett Leitzel, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Romig, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Central Columbia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 43-37 to Montoursville.
Midd-West now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Central Columbia, they bumped their record down to 7-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Midd-West came up short against Central Columbia in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 47-39. Can Midd-West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
