Despite the defeat, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep saw an underclassman step up: Marlon Calhoun scored 14 points. The match was Calhoun's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jeremiah Steele was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
KIPP DC Legacy College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Ballou, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
