Given Aptos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Falcons are ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isaiah Ackerman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Owen Warmerdam was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two blocks.
Aptos has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Scotts Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
