Basketball Recap: Boone Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Boone Central waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Norfolk Catholic Knights by a score of 58-47. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Knights back in December of 2024, they had to take a 73-40 defeat.

Norfolk Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Max Hammond and Braeden Burbach. Hammond posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Burbach went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Burbach a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Schutt, who had four points and eight boards.

Boone Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game.
