The Foothills Christian Knights will be playing at home against the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Foothills Christian stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. Everything went their way against San Diego Jewish Academy as Foothills Christian made off with a 57-36 win. The victory was nothing new for Foothills Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kameron Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 253 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Hernandez, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Foothills Christian's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Logan Hamilton and Hunter Hamilton who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Coastal Academy walked away with it. They managed a 48-44 win over San Pasqual Academy on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Coastal Academy.
Coastal Academy found their leader in underclassman Cody Terpstra, who rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Asher Benner, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Foothills Christian has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Coastal Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Foothills Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 312.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Coastal Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
