The North Providence Cougars will square off against the South Kingstown Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Providence knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully South Kingstown likes a good challenge.
North Providence came out on top against Woonsocket on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Villa Novans. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Geib-Ayala made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Makenna Heon and Mariana Xavier did most of the damage at the plate: Heon went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Xavier went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, Heon is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Maddie Clayton was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
North Providence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Kingstown can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Greenwich, sneaking past 5-4. The game was the first time the Rebels have beaten the Avengers on their field since April 12, 2018.
The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 4-9. As for North Providence, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
North Providence might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from South Kingstown in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
