Mosley will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Rutherford on Tuesday. Mosley was the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over Rutherford. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won four matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Carleigh Pearson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Pearson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.
In other batting news, Bayleigh Cox and Makenzy Grewe did most of the damage at the plate: Cox scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Grewe scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Grewe also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Elizabeth Brooking was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Mosley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy is ranked highly in their home state and last Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Wicksburg. North Bay Haven Academy took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wicksburg. The Buccaneers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
North Bay Haven Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Brady, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Mosley's record is now 4-5. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mosley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like North Bay Haven Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
