This season hasn't been kind to the Fairley Bulldogs, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They were dealt a 87-46 defeat at the hands of Hillcrest on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fairley in their matchups with Hillcrest: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Hillcrest to victory were Xavier Herron and Jordan Allen. Herron dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists, while Allen scored 33 points along with seven steals and six assists. The matchup was Allen's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja?Corean Mathis, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Fairley bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hillcrest, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Fairley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bluff City at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitehaven at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
