The Vintage Crushers will face off against the Sonoma Valley Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vintage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Sonoma Valley will be up against a hot Vintage squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Crushers blew past Montgomery 8-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Crushers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Soren DeYoung looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Blake Porter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Vintage's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). John Bullock was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Sonoma Valley can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Napa. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted against the Grizzlies since May 31, 2021.
Henry Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.
At the plate, Sonoma Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hughes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Josh Plexico also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Sonoma Valley's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Vintage, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Vintage was able to grind out a solid victory over Sonoma Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Crushers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
