The Gering Bulldogs lost against the Sidney Red Raiders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Gering took a hard 56-41 fall against Sidney. While losing is never fun, Gering can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Sidney is ranked eighth).
Despite the loss, Gering still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Brady, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Jacey Cochran was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.
Gering has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Sidney, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Both teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sidney is looking to tack on another W to their 14-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for they, Sidney and Scottsbluff will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Scottsbluff is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
