Last Friday, La Cueva faced Clovis in a battle between two of the state's top teams. La Cueva came out on top against Clovis by a score of 51-41.
Kirtland Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Montezuma-Cortez on the road to the tune of 79-42. With Kirtland Central ahead 47-25 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
La Cueva's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Kirtland Central, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
