King City has gone a perfect 5-0 against Monte Vista Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. King City will welcome Monte Vista Christian at 4:30 p.m. King City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
King City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Pioneer on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pioneer.
King City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janesa Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monte Vista Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past Stevenson 13-2 last Thursday. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Harper Ealy Whitby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Alvarado was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kayla Fullalove-Silveira, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Monte Vista Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
With the victory, Monte Vista Christian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for King City, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
King City beat Monte Vista Christian 6-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does King City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monte Vista Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
