It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Goshen RedHawks can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Kingsmen on the road and fell 55-20. Goshen has struggled against the Kingsmen recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Goshen lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaelyn Marcum. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Hill, who scored seven points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Goshen struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Penn racked up 14 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Penn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jessa Troy, who scored 16 points. Anna McCullough was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Goshen now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Penn, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.
Goshen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Penn won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Northridge will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak alive.
