It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Warrior Run Defenders can now relate to. They were dealt a 41-13 defeat at the hands of Loyalsock Township on Friday. Warrior Run has struggled against Loyalsock Township recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Carter Marr and Samuel Hall certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Marr picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Hall picked up 94 receiving yards.
It was another big night for Tyler Gee, who threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. Gee has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Jaylen Andrews made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Warrior Run to a paltry 197 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Loyalsock Township's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Isaiah West was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.
Warrior Run has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Loyalsock Township, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Warrior Run does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Loyalsock Township will head out on the road to face off against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
