Westerville South has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Westerville North Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Westerville South was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Big Walnut.
Despite the loss, Westerville South saw an underclassman step up: Ariyana Cradle scored 19 points along with two steals. Cradle hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cirrye White, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Westerville North ended up a good deal behind Hayes on Tuesday and lost 53-38. Westerville North was down 44-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Westerville South's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Westerville North, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
Everything came up roses for Westerville South against Westerville North when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 47-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westerville South since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
