The Middletown Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-42 walloping at the hands of Legacy Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Middletown Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 828th, while Legacy Christian Academy is ranked 341st).
Parker Burke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Legacy Christian Academy, scoring 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Burke hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Jacob Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Middletown Christian dropped their record down to 3-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Middletown Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-40 defeat vs. West Jefferson on the 10th. Legacy Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Miami Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miami Valley will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Legacy Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
