MCPHERSON, Kan. -
McPherson (Kan.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 34-17 victory over
Clay Center (Kan.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Kyler Kinnamon touchdown pass to
Alex Bahr in the first quarter, the Bullpups led 20-0 at the half.
McPherson expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored two times in the third, including once on a kick return touchdown by
Austin Obannon.
The Bullpups' standout player in the win was Kinnamon. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
McPherson came in allowing an average of 23.3 points per game this season. MHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Tigers right around the 19.4 points it had been averaging per game.
