This season hasn't been kind to the Logansport Berries, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a 51-36 bruising from Lewis Cass on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Logansport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Lewis Cass is ranked 54th).
Logansport's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lydia Goad, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals. Goad scored a full 27.8% of Logansport's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aracyn Good, who scored 9 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lewis Cass to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinsey Mennen, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mennen has scored at least 25% of Lewis Cass' points. Aftin Griffin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 steals.
Logansport's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Lewis Cass, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Logansport will stay at home for another game and welcome Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Harrison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. As for Lewis Cass, they will head out on the road to face off against Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rossville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
