The Mansfield Summit Jaguars will square off against the Mansfield Timberview Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Mansfield Summit sitting on four straight wins and Mansfield Timberview on three.
It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield Summit took on The Colony on Friday. The Jaguars took down the Cougars 34-17. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jaguars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Cougars are ranked 223rd).

Adarion Nettles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another back making a difference was Omogbolahan Daudu, who rushed for 103 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mansfield Summit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 404 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 282 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Mansfield Summit's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Xaiden Lampkin was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Timberview was able to grind out a solid victory over Seguin on Friday, taking the game 30-23.
Mansfield Timberview's win came from a few key players Mansfield Summit will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braylin Barnett, who picked up 108 receiving yards and three scores. Steven Hall was another key player, throwing for 229 yards and four touchdowns.
Mansfield Timberview's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mansfield Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Mansfield Summit barely slipped by Mansfield Timberview when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 21-20. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
