Horizon Science Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 54-43 to HEARTS for Jesus Christ on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Horizon Science Academy of the 64-51 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Horizon Science Academy still got an impressive performance from Braylon Myrick, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Rodney Osorio was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead HEARTS for Jesus Christ to victory, but perhaps none more so than Silas Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grady Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Horizon Science Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast Ohio College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Community at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Community has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
