University City fought the good fight in their overtime match against Clairemont on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 20-19 to the Chieftains. Despite the defeat, University City had strong showings from Kianna Lefear, who threw for 194 yards and three TDs, and Courtlyn Mitchell, who picked up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown. An impressive showing, but Mitchell really ramped things up playing D: she made six total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.
