Hayward extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 11-7 in the process. Everything went their way against the Barron Golden Bears as they made off with an 11-4 win. Considering the Hurricanes have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Barron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Northwestern (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.5% over those games).

For Barron's part, Hannah Coss was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coincidentally, Hayward and Barron will both be playing Northwestern the next time they take the field. The Golden Bears will host the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hurricanes will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
