The Washington-Liberty Generals will head out on the road to face off against the McLean Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington-Liberty is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Two weeks ago, Washington-Liberty made easy work of George C. Marshall and carried off a 52-26 victory. The result was nothing new for Washington-Liberty, who have now won five matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Jonathan Bhojwani continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 260 yards and six touchdowns. Bhojwani is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Joey Cordaro did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, McLean unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak dating back to last season on Saturday. They fell just short of Herndon by a score of 31-28. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but McLean was just barely outscored by Herndon in the second.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ethan Ball, who threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns. Kaelan Ferris was another key contributor, picking up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.
With Washington-Liberty's victory and McLean's defeat, both teams now sport identical 6-1 records.
Everything came up roses for Washington-Liberty against McLean in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington-Liberty since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
