After flying high against the North Boone Vikings last Thursday, the Sycamore Spartans came back down to earth. Sycamore fell just short of Crystal Lake Central by a score of 50-48. Sycamore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crystal Lake Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.
Jake Terlecki continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crystal Lake Central, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. The game was Terlecki's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Mast, who scored 18 points.
Sycamore has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Crystal Lake Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-11.
Sycamore's road trip will continue as they head out to face Marengo at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Marengo is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Crystal Lake Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rockford Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Rockford Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
