The Hawthorne Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Rhinebeck Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hawthorne Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Thursday, Hawthorne Valley was able to grind out a solid win over the Eagles, taking the game 54-47.
Hawthorne Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Oliver Towe out in front who scored 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Towe has scored at least a third of Hawthorne Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Noah Vom Stein, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Rhinebeck beat the Eagles 48-43 on Friday. The victory was just what Rhinebeck needed coming off of a 58-37 loss in their prior game.
Hawthorne Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Rhinebeck, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Hawthorne Valley was dealt a bruising 85-53 loss at the hands of the Hawks in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hawthorne Valley was down 45-18.
