MaxPreps National Rankings!
MaxPreps and the Alabama Army National Guard were on hand to celebrate Indian football at a school assembly in the school's auditorium. On arrival, the Tour of Champions began setting up its display of the Army National Guard national ranking trophy, which is shaped in the likeness of a Minuteman.
Pinson Valley head football coach Patrick Nix kicked off the celebration by talking about how honored he was to receive an Army National Guard national ranking trophy for the second year in a row before turning the program over to MaxPreps representative Nick Capote. Capote discussed the many successes of Pinson Valley, just one of 50 football programs across the nation to earn an invitation to this year's Tour of Champions, before introducing Staff Sergeant James Burroughs of the Alabama Army National Guard.
SSG Burroughs congratulated the Indians on such a high national ranking and went on to speak about duty, respect, leadership and honor, shared character traits of the Army National Guard and a state championship football team. Then, to a thunderous applause, SSG Burroughs presented the Army National guard national ranking trophy to Nix and the Indians. On behalf of the 14th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, congratulations to the Pinson Valley High School Indians, winners of back-to-back state football titles.
