After both having extra time off, the Austin College and Career Academy Tigers and the Intrinsic Mustangs will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Wednesday, Austin College and Career Academy ended up a good deal behind Uplift and lost 50-32.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mariah Kirkland, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was DeAhri Hayes, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Intrinsic over Manley in every quarter on their way to victory last Wednesday. Intrinsic came out on top against Manley by a score of 47-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Intrinsic can attribute much of their success to America Escalera, who had 16 points, and Dezanique Riley, who had 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Wiggins, who scored six points.
Intrinsic's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Austin College and Career Academy, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Everything came up roses for Austin College and Career Academy against Intrinsic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 63-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Austin College and Career Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
