After soaring to a 38-point win in their last game, Terra Ceia Christian came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of Ahoskie Christian by a score of 59-56. It was the first time this season that Terra Ceia Christian let down their fans at home.
Despite their loss, Terra Ceia Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ryan Ange, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Ange hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel VanEssendelft, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Eastern Christian HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Terra Ceia Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Eastern Christian HomeSchool didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Terra Ceia Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern Christian HomeSchool since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
