On Monday, the Bryan Station Defenders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Madison Central Indians 49-46. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the half to overcome a 26-13 deficit.
Junior Natoria Godoy took over for Bryan Station, finishing with 23 points (47% of their total).
The victory improved the Defenders' record to 11-16. Madison Central's defeat pushed them down to 8-13.
The Defenders will square off against Tates Creek on Friday. Bryan Station isn't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them this last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve. Madison Central is on the road again on Friday and plays against Paul Laurence Dunbar.
