Custer have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Pine Ridge at 7:00 PM. Custer strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 30 points per game.
There's no need to mince words: Custer lost to Hot Springs two weeks ago, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 13-56. Custer were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 13-53.
Last Friday, Pine Ridge put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Crow Creek 50-0. Pine Ridge were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Pine Ridge's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Custer's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. If Pine Ridge want to win, Pine Ridge will need to focus on stopping Custer's junior Elmore Dathon, who picked up 46 yards on the ground and snatched 1 receiving TD, and junior Micaiah Grace, who rushed for 61 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
