Softball Recap: Shelton Wins Going Away Against O'brien RVT

After losing to O'Brien RVT the last time they met, Shelton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gaels blew past the Condors 11-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Gaels, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Riley Breunig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tori Silva, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayse DellaRocco, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Shelton and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for O'Brien RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Shelton has already played their next game, a 14-1 win against Hillhouse on the 21st. As for O'Brien RVT, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-1 victory against Wolcott RVT on the 21st.
