It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Rio Rancho Rams ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Artesia by a score of 57-49. The victory was nothing new for Rio Rancho as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leading Rio Rancho to victory were Jayden Johnson and Kevin Archuleta. Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Archuleta scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Johnson. Another player making a difference was Aidan Wood, who scored ten points.
Rio Rancho now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Artesia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Rancho and Rio Grande will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Artesia will be home for the holidays to greet Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
