Falkner's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Nunley, who scored 23 points. That was a full 46% of Falkner's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Mauney, who scored 15 points.
Falkner's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Byers, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.
Falkner won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Myrtle at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Falkner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
