The Warren County Eagles came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Southeast Halifax with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 50-34. The victory was just what Warren County needed coming off of a 66-26 defeat in their prior matchup.
Warren County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariah Harris, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaliyah Richardson, who scored 14 points.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kemorriya Evans, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Myrecle Harrison, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Warren County's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Southeast Halifax, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Warren County will face off against Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northampton County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season. As for Southeast Halifax, they will be playing at home against North Edgecombe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Edgecombe will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Southeast Halifax surely won't give up without a fight.
