The Fossil Ridge SaberCats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to Boulder for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-32 victory at home. Fossil Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Walker Shields and Eli Nutting. Shields scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Nutting made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 22 points and 3 assists. Shields continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Eli Hughes was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Fossil Ridge pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Boulder, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will take on Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Broomfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Boulder, they will be playing at home against Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Collins knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Boulder likes a good challenge.
