Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-West Hendricks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wanson Hall, who rushed for 79 yards and one TD. The Bruins also got help from Carter Cummings, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.
Tri-West Hendricks' run defense was locked in: Indian Creek could only muster three yards per carry. The team can thank Abe Haste for the heroic effort on defense: he. The dominant display was nothing new: Tri-West Hendricks has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monrovia). They were the clear victors by a 27-6 margin over Speedway on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Sparkplugs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ryder Bain and Coewen Stinson. Bain rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores while Stinson rushed for 94 yards on only 12 carries. Bain also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.
The victory got Monrovia back to even at 3-3. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their record is now 5-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Tri-West Hendricks has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 294.7 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Monrovia, though, as they've been averaging only 44.5 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Tri-West Hendricks beat Monrovia 28-21 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
